WHAT IS A

STRUCTURAL SHIFT?

In our area, many in this profession focus on traditional chiropractic.  Traditional Chiropractic is the practice of focusing on temporarily decreasing pain, decreasing muscle spasm, and improving range of motion.  These goals are not only very important and have improved the lives of many through the years, but my colleagues perform this focus very well.

WHAT ARE SECONDARY CONDITIONS?

Secondary conditions, also known as symptoms, are the result of Structural Shift.  This dysfunction can be the result of improper structure of the spine.
Possible Secondary Conditions:
  • Migraine Headaches

  • Muscle Spasm

  • Muscle Tension

  • Muscular Imbalance

  • Neck Pain

  • Numbness/Tingling (Arms & Hands)

  • Pinched Nerve (Nerve Impingement Syndrome)

  • Posture-Related Issues

  • Rotator Cuff Issues

  • Shoulder Pain

  • Sinus Conditions

  • Spinal Decay

  • Strength-Related Issues (Decreased Grip Strength)

  • Tendonitis

  • Tennis Elbow

  • Thoracic Outlet Syndrome

  • TMJ Disorder

  • Upper Back Pain

  • Vision Issues

  • Wrist Pain

  • Mid-Back Pain

  • Arm Pain (Upper and Lower)

  • Asymmetry (Ex. Low Shoulder)

  • Bone Spurs

  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

  • Cervical Canal Stenosis

  • Cervical Myelopathy

  • Decreased Range of Motion

  • Degenerative Disc Disease

  • Degenerative Joint Disease

  • Digestive Conditions (Including Reflux)

  • Disc Herniation

  • Dizziness (Cervicogenic Vertigo)

  • Dowager's Hump

  • Fatigue

  • Fibromyalgia

  • Golfer's Elbow

  • Headaches (Variety)

  • Hearing Difficulties

  • Itchiness

  • Low Back Pain

THE DIFFERENCE

Here at Restore Family Chiropractic, we focus on restoring Structural Shift.  We take an engineering approach to restoring your spine and the overall function of your body.

For example, think about a house.  If the house has an unleveled foundation, different parts of the house will experience issues.  The windows will jam, drywall can crack, or the floors could creak.  You could spend time putting WD-40 on the windows, repairing cracks in the drywall or replacing different floorboards, but you would need to repeat the process again…  and again… and again.

The spine and function of the body is no different.  Research has shown that when our spine’s foundation is unleveled, we experience dysfunction of our body's processes.  Structural Shift results from pressure on our spinal nerves at points throughout our spinal column.  This shift can lead to secondary conditions (symptoms) and just like our house, we can correct sections where we find pain or spasm again… and again… and again.

OR... You could take the time to RESTORE the entire foundation to stop secondary responses.

RESTORING

In our practice we focus on the entire foundation of the spine and how we can move from dysfunction (causing secondary symptoms), towards stability and restoration.  Just like restoring the foundation of a house, two things are needed to bring about lasting change for your spine: Time and Repetition.  We can’t go to the gym only once day and expect a total body makeover, just like we can’t expect to get adjusted once and have all of our secondary conditions subside.  That is why, at Restore Family Chiropractic, we utilize four specific diagnostic indicators to pinpoint specific problem areas so that we can create a customized phase of care to create lasting change leading to the restoration of normal body function.

HOW IT WORKS

The First Visit
We have specific times during our days open for new patient appointments.

We offer a completely complimentary consultation. This initial conversation is important so that we can understand your current picture of health and what we can do to assist in your health goals.  Our consultations are always commitment free and our goal is to provide enough information so that you can make a knowledgeable decision that is best for you.

The Exam
If you choose to move forward with our exam, here is what you can expect:

We use four heavily researched and objective exams (listed below) to determine both the underlying structure of your spine and the function of your nervous system.  These exams each have an established normal result and each finding will be explained thoroughly so that any decision about your health will always be well informed and completely yours to make.

69943303-676864416125055-425973763627386
NeuroThermal Scan

This is a scan down the length of your spine analyzing the integrity of each level of your nervous system exiting through the vertebrae of the spinal column.

71519276-646416625763259-470931504349942
Surface Electromyography (sEMG)-

This is a measure of the paraspinal (postural) muscle activity which locates areas of asymmetry throughout that spine.  What this means is that certain structural changes in the spine result in some muscles overworking (tight) while others are underutilized (flaccid).  This can cause chronic spasm and pain in the tight muscles while creating instability around the flaccid ones.

OUR METHODS

Autonomic Nervous System Analysis

Think about your body like a car.  We have a gas pedal to make us go faster and a brake pedal to slow us down.  We have the same system in our body.  Our sympathetic nervous system (gas pedal) helps get our body amped up to respond to stressors in our life and is also known as our “fight or flight” response.  Meanwhile, our parasympathetic nervous system (brakes) helps slow down our body and is also known as our “rest and digest” response.  We need both of these responses to help us find balance and adapt in our daily life.  This exam shows our body's adaptability to stresses and whether or not our gas pedal is stuck down (can’t get a good night’s rest, poor digestion) or our brakes won’t let up (chronic fatigue).

Multi-Axial Structural Analysis

This exam is used to analyze the underlying structure of the spine by using precise measurements and digital photography to create an objective picture of shift.

AFTER THE EXAM

We ask that you allow us time to process the exam results before we are able to suggest care.  It will take us usually one day to analyze the exam results properly so that we can give you the best picture of your health status and the most accurate course of action on where to go from there.

We will then present our plan as well as all of the options that are available to you so that you can make an informed decision that is best for you and your health.

Starting Care

Once we begin the Initial Phase of Care, our normal office visits will take LESS THAN 10 minutes to respect your time.

Legal Help for Personal Injury Claims

If you’ve been injured in a car accident, on the job, or due to someone’s negligence, you may need a personal injury lawyer to help get you the compensation you’re entitled to. After an accident, people are often confused as to how they will pay for treatment and what they are entitled to receive. You’re entitled to have reasonable treatment paid by the responsible party or their insurance carrier. We recommend VanDerGinst Law.

VanDerGinst Law has represented thousands of injury victims and has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars on their behalf. We refer our patients to VanDerGinst Law to handle their injury cases. When you contact them, mention our name to receive a discount on attorney fees. VanDerGinst Law never charges an attorney fee on injury cases unless they win.
