The current recommendations for physical activity is 150 minutes of moderate activity or 75 minutes of vigorous activity a week.
The average 9-5 desk job clocks in at about 2 minutes a day for those much needed pee breaks.
WE DON"T MOVE ENOUGH.
There I said it. And I'm writing this blog just in time for nice weather to (finally) kick in.
Listen, "if you don't use it, you lose it" is a pretty common expression and holds true with our bodies.
Our joints are specifically made to move our body around. That includes our spines which has over 100 joints associated with it. When we don't move, we begin to build adhesions throughout our spine which can decrease our ranges of motion and lead to NeuroSpinal Shift.
So yes, if you don't use it, you will LOSE it.
Not to mention that it doesn't really even take that much to maintain somewhat of a healthy lifestyle.
You don't have to go sign up for the next marathon or enter the next bodybuilding competition.
You need to spend 2 1/2 hours doing an activity that:
This doesn't mean to the point of exhaustion. Even a slight increase can have MAJOR health benefits.
In a week with 168 hours you need to put forth 1.5% of it towards exercise.
Not too bad.
