Luck Favors the Prepared

"A terrible golfer"  is too nice a phrase to describe my abilities on the course.
Though I go out and try every summer, I always end up with higher scores.
(I promise I won't talk golf the whole time)

Luck favors the prepared.

In my case, I drag my barely used golf bag to the course once or twice a summer, whack (and lose) a few balls without a care about form or follow through.

So, No, Luck does not favor me out there.

But, I mention this because the same can be said of our bodies.

I know a lot of us look forward to (or are enjoying) the golden years.
The era in our life when we have time to do all of the things we've been waiting so long for.
  • Travel
  • Playing with Grandkids
  • Playing with GREAT-grandkids
  • and Rest from a full and busy life
How can we ensure that these are ACHIEVABLE?
First and foremost, we can take care of ourselves and our bodies! 
If you have had the chance to read past blogs, you may very well understand that function of the body is heavily tied to our STRUCTURE.  Namely, the STRUCTURE of the spine.
Improper Structure leads to DYS-function and decreases our bodies ability to adapt to the world around us leading to secondary conditions. (symptoms)

This DYS-function, unchecked, can cause more and more health concerns as we grow older.  Until...
​
Instead of travel, staying close to caretakers.  
Watching Grandkids play instead playing with them.
And using that hard earned retirement fund for medical bills.

Take care of yourself now, so that in the future, you can focus on what matters.

How to live WITHOUT a Chiropractor!

YES!
IT IS TRUE!  THERE IS SUCH A WAY!!

All you need to know is...

There are 3 things.  Only 3 ways we make our body more susceptible to:
illness, pain, poor sleep, anxiety, etc. etc. etc. etc etc.
So......  What are they?

In the Chiropractic realm they are referred to as the 3 T's. (oh, you just wait and see how good it can get)

Thoughts: Emotional Stress like; late for work, missed homework deadline, dog chewed on the shoelaces (again), etc.

Traumas: Physical Stress like; car accidents, slips and falls, and even, yes, even, looking at cell phones for long periods of time (pshh, who does that?)

and 

Toxins:  Chemical Stress like; pesticides from foods, excess amounts of certain foods *cough* sugar *cough*, and even, yes, even, the medication we need to take everyday.

SO........... How can you limit seeing a healthcare provider to almost never?

Live a life FREE of the 3 T's!!!!!!!!!!!  Easy, Right?

That's it!  Blog Over......   EXCEPT,
It's not easy.  In fact, we can't escape these "T's" no matter where we go.
  • It's nearly impossible to find food without at least some form of chemicals.
  • Vacations can seem just as stressful as normal life.
  • And if you can look me in the eyes and tell me you've never had bumps or bruises along the path of life, then I'm sorry you never got to play on the monkey bars...

These "T's" create a cycle for our body that s.l..o...w....l....y decreases function over time, leading to the terrific secondary conditions (symptoms) we all know and love. =)

The CRAZY thing is, this isn't limited to pain.  This can lead to many other issues because and drumroll please....   this is all tied to ONE system in our body.  

the nervous system.  

Yes, this system controls EVERYTHING that goes on in our body whether we think about it or not. 
And when we lose that mediation, we lose normal function. Leading to issues including (but not limited to): thyroid, digestion, immunity, anxiety, sleep, attention, breathing, and even pain.

It's NOT a tough cycle to break (if you find someone who knows how to help.)
I know YOU have a life worth living. Why not make it as full and functional as possible!
So yes, you can live without a Chiropractor, but why would you want to?

I Feel A Sneeze Coming on...

No matter who's house you visit, there are always 2 things that are CERTAIN:
  1. There is something you would change. (In the hypothetical sense that you lived there.)
  2. You can find a Kleenex.
And in my experience, mentioning the former almost always incites the slight head nod with the, "Huh. Yea, maybe we'll try that."  In that never-gunna-happen kind of voice, while the latter seems to be more and more of a necessity.
 Because in a big group of people, there is ALWAYS someone with a cold.

I can't help with Point 1. 
But I can with Number 2!  (Blog to come later)
And, I can also help with the second point!

Sickness.  What a drag.  Fatigue. Soreness. Irritability.
              (OK, That last one is just a trait of mine.)
It can take us to a place where the only thing we have to hope for is just being able to use BOTH of our nostrils!

BUT THERE IS HOPE!

*disclaimer - Skip the next paragraph FILLED with research excerpts to get right to the main point!

Not only has research PROVEN the link between proper Nervous System function and Immune Function, but it has also shown how Chiropractic Care IMPROVES Nervous System Function.  A study in 2011 (Journal of the American Osteopathic Association) showed that following spinal adjustments, the body had an increase of IgA (Immune System Protein) by 139%!  Another Study in 2004 showed those with immune related illnesses (allergies, dermatitis, and asthma) were able to overcome those illnesses compared to those in the control group.  (whew it's over.)

Chiropractic Care = Less Sickness
Don't believe me?  Go back up to the paragraph you probably skipped!

It's AMAZING to think about the body we have that fights off unwanted viruses and bacteria
                            EVERY.
                                    SINGLE.
                                                 DAY.
Without us even thinking about it!
The moment our function slips, we become susceptible.
                                   And illness sets in...
SO,
Why be more prone to sickness than you need to be? 
Being sick once a month ISN'T NORMAL
Heck, being sick every other month ISN'T NORMAL

I have yet to meet someone that would choose a toilet bowl over a day of work.
So, when you run out of your third tissue box, stop in.  We can show you what we do to improve function.

My First Blog

I am new to the blog experience.  Count that against me if you want but my goal here to provide serious information, NOT to be an entertainer...
JUST KIDDING!
Yes, I do want to be as informative as possible.  BUT, if you asked ME to read a blog post about x, y, and z complete with facts and figures to make your head spin, I don't think I would have made it even this far in.
SO. 
What we are trying to do here is EDUCATE with a dash of excitement!

WHY?
Because health is very important me!
AND it is important to you, WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE IT!
How do I know this?  
A Short Story:

​I had someone in the office just today that I asked, "how is your                      *inserthealthconcern*. (Neck Pain in this case)
Response: "I don't really know..."
The End


I said it was a SHORT story! 
How come this is pertinent?  
When your body is working CORRECTLY, there is NOTHING to notice and therefore not on our mind.

When we are in the ABSENCE of health, however, it is the ONLY thing we can think about.
 Proof:
  • Migraines that make us crash on the couch and not move until they pass.
  • Digestive issues that make us stay within 100 ft. of a bathroom.
  • Tailbone Pain that makes us change seated positions every 5 seconds.
Enough? I think so.
Anyways...
"I don't know" is one of my FAVORITE answers.  Because it means you haven't had to think about your health and instead can focus on:
  • Family
  • Friends
And, uh, I don't know,
  • ENJOYING LIFE!               (you're still reading eh?)
If you really want to know my long story about becoming a Chiropractor, and a NeuroSpinal one at that, ask me LATER.
But looooooong story short I don't really accept the-

"I'm sorry but *inserthealthconcern* is something you'll just have to deal with forever..."

I UNDERSTAND there are some issues that are going to remain long term.  The exception to the rule is NOT what I'm talking about here.  I am NOT naive to the ways of the world.  

Even so, when you are told to end your search of relief and "suck it up",
        I
         GET
             FIRED
                 UP!!!!!!!!!!!
Because most of the time you have tried (almost) EVERYTHING.
And discouragement is a terrible feeling that I don't want YOU to deal with.

What I do within the realm of Chiropractic is DIFFERENT.
NOT better, and I will NEVER claim superiority.  Just a Difference.
But what I do works.  Because this is more than helping you find that QUICK FIX.
This is about the ability to FOCUS on WHAT REALLY MATTERS!

So, for the 3 people that made it to the end of this blog, (Hey Thanks!)
Whether your're looking for your 1st consultation or 47th, we exist for YOU.
Whether you have been told to give up completely or try the same old thing for the 8th time, we are here to SERVE YOU!
It's time to stop thinking about *insert... well, you know.
